Quickest Way to Move Around the City: Microbuses
In all Egyptian cities, microbuses are the most common mode of travel. These buses provide a quick, easy and a very cheap way to move from one place to another. Many tourists do not opt for the other more comfortable mediums of travel and choose microbuses that are very commonly used by the locals. To see whether a bus is going on the desired route, one needs to shout out loud the name of the destination and if the route is the same, the driver will pick them up. This bus network functions till 10 p.m. however, these buses do not drop the passenger on the specified locations, but the drop the passengers to the nearest main roads from which the passengers have to walk their way to the destination.

There is a bridge located on the river bank that provides a route for taxis and buses to cross the river, however, it takes time as the bridge is long. The quickest way to cross the river is by taking a Baladi ferry from the east bank to go to the west bank or vice versa. Ferries are not just a faster way of crossing the river, but it is a more adventurous one and is filled with excitement. In just LE2, tourists can travel from one bank to another. Besides ferries, lunches also take passengers from one bank to another in LE20. There are no fixed locations from where these lunches begin, wherever they see passengers standing they begin the ride from that point. It is an efficient and fast way to make your way to the other side of the city.
