Nightlife in Amsterdam

The early evening may appear quiet but later evening hours of Amsterdam at its streets and squares would be busy. Most of the streets of the town are seen to be invaded by a large group of tourists as well as locals walking along the streets. One such busy area is the Dam Square’s back. This area is termed as the Red Light District. These areas turn lively at night and here you will find many restaurants and cafes filled with people.

It is Nes and is surrounded by many cafes who strive to attract this theater crowd. A stylish Grasshopper establishment is there in the heart of the city between Red Light district and Damrak. A favorite place for theatres, live Lido theatre entertainment, music and cultural shows, casino, restaurants, cafes and more are around Leidseplein. Here is the famous Stadsschouwburg (City theatre). Big name brands can be seen performing here.
Clubs: This city is truly a party city with a wide collection of nightclubs located all around Amsterdam. Clubs are scattered all around the city but main areas where you can find most happening clubs are Leidseplein, Rembrantplein, Spui and the Red Light District.
Red Light District: There is a nightlife in Amsterdam that is signified as dark light or red light district. In this area, cameras are restricted and you should not make movies or take pictures. If you happen to do so, you can face serious consequences in the form of your camera destroyed or you will be asked to leave or can be harmed too. Like in many other cities of the world, prostitution is legal and you will find many red lit windows in this district.
